Business & Enterprise at Paget
Paget High School was designated as a Specialist Business & Enterprise College in September 2006.
Aims and Objectives
Paget High School Business & Enterprise College is committed to unlocking the full potential of every pupil and to ensure successful futures as learners, employees, employers and citizens.
We aim to develop enterprising learners with enterprise capability in all our pupils.
Our objectives are to:-
- equip all our pupils with the skills required by employers so that they can achieve economic well-being
Our Status focuses on the work of 3 lead curriculum areas:-
- Business;
- Mathematics; and
- ICT
This is set out in a four year cycle and as it unfolds, so all curriculum areas will become fully integrated into the work of the Specialist College.
Developments so far
Already, the status has enabled us to suite and network the Maths Curriculum Area, create four new interactive teaching rooms for Business and provide the Sixth Form with a brand new common room.
The Business & Enterprise Centre also houses the Community Room, an interactive teaching space for the Community and Sixth Form as well as two 'incubator suites' available for rent to new businesses.

Enterprise at Paget
At Paget, we believe that Enterprise learning is an integral part of being an effective and lifelong learner: it motivates pupils to improve attainment and prepare them for adult life.
Enterprise is a key element to all our teaching and learning. To us, Enterprise is simplified into:

These are the core enterprise skill and qualities that highlight the meaning of
Enterprise to staff and pupils in a simplistic way.
I |
Innovate |
Create an idea. |
C |
Communicate: |
Describe, explain and present information to others about a variety of topics, using an appropriate style. |
A |
Adapt: |
The ability to change plans, ideas and actions to meet new circumstances and demands. |
N |
Negotiate: |
The skills of collaborating with others in a team to meet a desired outcome or goal. |
These qualities express Enterprise as an attitude - it is an approach to life that says ' I CAN'. In other words, I CAN achieve and accomplish tasks set before me.
Enterprise is often linked to business and the work of an entrepreneur. Here, at Paget, we see enterprise as an attitude of the mind that is relevant to learning and all aspects of the curriculum. We believe that there are natural links to business but these are not exclusive.
